Fantasy Sci-Fi Painting
KCIL 310 - 3 Credit Hours
A topical course that allows the program to repsond to students' interest in a particular area, or other expressed need, or capacity to offer a particular topic.
Students learn and apply the technique of monochromatic underpainting for traditional oil or digital painting to create (at least) one large scale imaginative illustration in the genre of sci-fi, fantasy, horror, adventure, or mystery!
The first project is a small portrait study to familiarize students with the traditional "indirect" painting technique. The second project is the planning and execution of the large scale illustration to be presented in context.
