Illustration Life Drawing III

KCIL 323 - 3 Credit Hours

Advanced study of the human figure, especially in relation to the needs of the illustrator, with emphasis on construction, composition, movement, and interpretation of the clothed and costumed figure in various media.

A more advanced course in rendering the human figure as it pertains to the Illustrator. Emphasis will be placed on pictorial composition, perspective, the use of color, the introduction of new materials and techniques, the development of the quick sketch and the understanding of body mechanics. Further importance will be placed on the psychology of body language and gesture, and how the figure may be used to convey concept in an illustrative format.

The core idea behind this class is that all facets of Illustration have their basis in the study of life. All class work, outside assignments and sketchbooks will reflect this concept.
